An invited competition located in the middle of Nicosia to house the extensive Leventis art collection. The dual function of the gallery and residential element allowed for the exploration of depth, moving from the crowded street, through the gallery and its facilities to the privacy of dwelling units. This was achieved through the creation of a covered square, acting as a filter between elements.
The gallery then takes up the first levels as a series of strict volumes which evolve into the residential tower, on the side of the old town and its walls. Perforations and folds filter both wall and roof, not only regulating light and air flow but providing a certain texture to the exterior skin. This is particularly significant in the gallery roof.
