Liberty Tower
The object in the cityscape is valid as an orientation device within an anonymous space. The elevated glass cylinders, set within the cutting elements of the structural slabs provide this. Raised on a platform which responds to the site morphology the confident volumes project into the surrounding urban fabric with steadfast purpose. Offices have the additional quality of being fairly tolerant toward transparency, allowing for an illuminated event at night. This provides a neat contrast to the simple impression of geometric elements that do so much to give the building its almost brutal presence in the cityscape.
