Hospitality & Leisure

Saint Emilion

A leisure complex in Nicosia with a strongly articulated design. Three quite disjointed elements, each with their own language create a series of events as opposed to a single statement. Weight and levels of transparency also come into play, especially where the solid nature of the metallic prism, with an almost nautical feel to it, is underpinned by the light volume of the restaurant prism. There is something about ‘100 mile city’, the idea of designs for the speed of car travel about this project.

An idea which permitted spaces to focus individually on informing their own surroundings. Further to this the choice of materials, the variegated openings and geometries filter at different levels, allowing the passer-by to engage with individual functions in different ways.
