Residential Complexes

The Six Towers

Six towers is a sum of its parts. It has been designed as a solid, confident entity which is neatly articulated into its parts. The liquid volume of the pool, jutting out of the top level, the smaller variations of the lower level facilities, gathering spaces and circulation hubs act as distractions to the weighty repetition of the residential levels. These are arranged in six towers at different inclinations, leaning in on each other. Through this the inherent repetition of residential schemes begins to be broken down into smaller elements.

Bridges act as staples, linking the disparate elements at a more intimate scale. The struggle to adapt programme and requirements into a deliberately disjointed geometry was a taxing one. The tension with which it pushed and pulled the design was a motivational force. When one develops the awareness that these are the rules of the game, when the concept runs and dictates the result is brimming over with positive energy.
