A fluid form that maintains clarity through a carefully defined diagram. Expressive materials and their gentle juxtaposition allow the design to be viewed as a single entity, an object. Internal organization, from circulation to the stacking of rooms and their detail provide a further enriching of the vocabulary, without ever overwhelming the integrity of the total object. Located along the wide Grivas Digenis Avenue means the object can be enjoyed from a distance, can be approached gradually and maintains a comfortable autonomy within the urban fabric.
The design is not limited to student accommodation but incorporates commercial and recreational elements as well as a public element to it. Through these functions the scheme better engages with its environment, a feature that is not only tantamount to a better urban environment but also significant in closing the gap between the wider public and university institutions.
